Drinking water:
UV-disinfection is used very often and with great successf or drinking water supply . Beside local organized central drinking water treatment, decentralized drinking water disinfection plays an important ongoing part in regions difficult to access.
Sewage-disinfection is also the biggest growth market for UV-procedures. Water-degermination according to biological purification grade is essential for the protection of the environment and is already required by law in many countries.
Ultrapure water:
Ultrapure water preparation is an important application area for UV-technology. Hydrocarbon compounds in water can be decreased with the combination of UV-light and a wavelength of 185 nm and other treatments. These particularly high degrees of purity are required in pharmaceutical production as well as semiconductor production.
Process water:
The industry needs neutral, disinfected water for countless processes. Degerminated water is required in the beverage and food industry, for example in the manufacturing process as well as purging- and cleansing-process. It is used for disinfecting medical appliances just as well.
Special applications:
There are a range of application areas for UV-systems that do not fit to the above named categories.
